The IMO model course "Oil Tanker Cargo and Ballast Handling Simulator" was identified at the 10th session of the IMO Sub-Committee on Human Element, Training and Watchkeeping (HTW) as a key course for China to revise. This course aims to align the specific roles of oil tanker crew members with international standards and high industry benchmarks. It seeks to enhance the existing model by incorporating advanced training concepts and teaching experiences from both domestic and international oil tanker cargo and ballast handling simulations. The revision will reference international industry organization inspection standards and integrate new technologies and case studies of typical incidents. The goal is to develop a model course that meets international conventions and practical training needs.
